Four people were rescued from a boat that flipped on the Detroit River on Tuesday, April 21, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
A good Samaritan used VHF Channel 16, a marine radio channel used to signal distress, to report the pleasure craft, a boat on the water for pleasure, capsized, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
A good Samaritan brought three individuals onto his vessel, and another good Samaritan brought one individual onto their vessel, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The U.S. Coast Guard sent out a 29-foot response boat, and the boats gathered at the Delray Boat Ramp near the Gordie Howe International Bridge, where EMS was waiting to transport the individuals to higher care, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
