Have you ever put much thought into what your license plate looks like? I certainly haven’t, and I reckon most people haven’t either, judging by the number of plain Jane, three-letter followed by four-number license plates I see out on the roads.
I, of course, had seen Ohio license plates with custom images before, but never dedicated much thought to the subject. That changed when I saw the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles advertising a state cows license plate on social media and decided to see just how many types of custom license plates the state offers.
The answer, dear reader, is many. The Ohio BMV has dozens upon dozens of little images and logos you can put on your license plate. My personal favorite is the Ohio Wetlands bullfrog license plate, which, as you might have guessed, features an image of the humble green amphibian.
There is truly a license plate for every situation. You can signal your support for Ohio’s zoos with a zoo license plate. You can announce to other drivers that you’re dog- and/or cat-friendly. And you can advertise your love for central Ohio’s sports teams with a Columbus Clippers, Columbus Crew or Columbus Blue Jackets license plate.
You can also tell other drivers your secret identity of Superman.
