ALLIANCE ‒ An Alliance woman is accused of biting a police officer, throwing cookware at them and ripping out Taser darts, police say.
The 26-year-old faces two counts of felony assault and single charges of criminal damaging, obstructing official business and resisting arrest from the July 3 incident.
The Repository is not naming the defendant due to the level of charges.
According to the police report, officers responded about 10:48 p.m. after a reported domestic situation involving three people at an apartment complex on Mill Circle.
The report said the woman was holding a large kitchen knife in kitchen, in a fighting stance, and refusing to obey police officers.
They then used a Taser on her but she ripped the darts off her skin, put the knife down and threw pots and pans, striking officers, the report said.
The report also said the woman tried to throw a blender at officers, but one of the officers grabbed her and put her on the ground. She fought the arrest.
The woman also kicked the windows of a police cruiser.
The report said the woman was taken to Aultman Alliance Community Hospital for evaluation. While there, the report says she bit another officer on the forearm, breaking the skin.
The woman was arraigned July 6 in Alliance Municipal Court. No plea was taken. Her bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety, or 10%, court records showed.
She remains in the Stark County Jail as of July 7.
