The World Cup journey for the U.S. Men’s National Team – and FC Cincinnati defender Miles Robinson – came to an end July 6 with a 4-1 loss to Belgium in the round of 16.
Robinson now returns to the orange and blue, which has a friendly against English side Burnley F.C. on Friday, July 10. When asked about Robinson’s availability during media access on July 7, club officials did not clarify whether he will play Friday night, even with a four-day turnaround from the USMNT’s final World Cup match. He hasn’t appeared in a match since June 25.
Robinson’s only World Cup action saw him play all 90 minutes of a 3-2 loss to Turkey in the final match of group stage play. He recorded 16 defensive interventions and won two aerial duels but failed to disrupt crossing passes that led to Turkish goals in the 10th and 31st minutes.
FC Cincinnati’s next Major League Soccer match is July 22 at home against Vancouver, followed by a trip to Columbus for the Hell is Real derby on July 25.
Robinson has played in all 12 of FC Cincinnati’s matches this year, both in MLS play and the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
