Speed limit on part of Route 91 in Hudson will be reduced. What to know

Motorists traveling on Darrow Road between Valley View Road in Hudson’s northern boundary line will need to slow their speed in the near future.

Hudson City Council voted to lower the speed limit along that stretch of Route 91 from 45 mph to 35 mph, effective Monday, July 20.

City officials stated that portable message boards have been placed along the Route 91 corridor warning drivers of the upcoming speed limit change, and new speed limit signs will be installed on July 20.

The change is based on safety concerns and recognizes this section of Route 91 as an urban district under Ohio law, better reflecting current roadway conditions and improving safety, according to city officials. The Hudson Police Department will not issue citations immediately, but drivers may receive a warning as they adjust to this change.
