Over the past couple of months, the Texas Tech Red Raiders have been one of the most talked-about teams in all of college football. From the Brendan Sorsby saga to the offseason drama between coach Joey McGuire and Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian, there have been some pretty constant headlines coming out of Lubbock.
Wouldn’t it be nice if a documentary crew were around to capture all of this while it was happening?
Funny how that works, isn’t it? On Monday afternoon, the Red Raiders announced that they will be featured in a four-part documentary series produced by Paramount+ that details their offseason and everything that has transpired.
The series will be directed by Micah Brown, who also headed up shows on the Colorado Buffaloes — Coach Prime — and the Michigan Wolverines during their sign-stealing scandal — Untold: Sign Stealer. The four-episode docuseries has been in production since January 2026 and is expected to premiere ahead of this year’s college football season.
“This has proven to be a landscape-altering offseason, and we’ve been lucky to have a front row seat,” said Greg Groggel, SVP Unscripted, Skydance Sports. “This series will present fans and viewers with an unprecedented window into everything that is defining college football today.”
While several things of note have taken place for the Red Raiders over the past few months, it’s reasonable to believe that the Sorsby saga will be featured as a major part of this series. After transferring to Texas Tech from the Cincinnati Bearcats, Sorsby was ruled ineligible to play by the NCAA following his admission that he had broken the league’s gambling rules. He was later granted a temporary injunction from a local judge, allowing him to play, but ended up agreeing to part ways with the university following significant backlash.
That has been one of the predominant storylines in the college football world this offseason, and fans rightfully want a closer look at all that happened.
