Comfortable weather is expected Sunday across Western and Central New York before heat and humidity build through the week, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
High temperatures Sunday are forecast to reach the upper 70s to low 80s across the region, including around 82 degrees in Rochester. Most areas will stay dry, though a few pop-up showers or thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon across parts of the Southern Tier.
By midweek, conditions will become noticeably hotter and more humid. High temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 80s and low 90s in communities including Rochester, Geneseo and Canandaigua.
The hot, humid pattern is expected to continue into the Fourth of July holiday weekend, with warm overnight temperatures providing little relief.
