The New York Jets finally made their long-term investment in running back Breece Hall this offseason. After initially franchise tagging him to extend the negotiation window, the Jets signed Hall to a three-year extension worth $45.75 million, paying him more than $15 million per season. Now, the former Iowa State standout is looking to build on a career-best season.
Hall rushed for a career-high 1,065 yards in 2025, crossing the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his four-year career. The Jets figure to be a run-heavy offense under new offensive coordinator Frank Reich. Hall should receive plenty of opportunities to build on his 2025 performance.
Darren Mougey has invested in the offensive line to help support Hall. Joe Tippmann was recently signed to a contract extension. Dylan Parham was acquired via free agency to play the other guard position. Armand Membou and Olu Fashanu are first-round picks at offensive tackle.
Geno Smith is a gunslinging quarterback, and he has passing-game weapons at his disposal like Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell, Kenyon Sadiq, and Omar Cooper Jr. Nonetheless, the Jets should be a run-first offense to help make Smith’s job easier at quarterback.
There’s no reason why Hall can’t have the first 1,200 rushing yard season of his career in 2026.
