Recruiting expert believes FSU has the 'momentum' with key target

The FSU Seminoles have one running back committed in four-star prospect Jayden Miles, but they are not done at the position. Their top remaining target is three-star prospect Marquis Fennell, who is from nearby Valdosta, Georgia.

He is an excellent fit for FSU’s offense with head coach Mike Norvell once again calling plays. Fennell is not only a great runner, but is also a good receiver, something Norvell loves to use to exploit mismatches. As a junior at Valdosta High School, he ran for 1,480 yards and 23 touchdowns on 181 attempts, and caught 53 passes for 764 yards and 10 more touchdowns.

Fennell’s recruitment is approaching the finishing line with him set to make his commitment on Thursday, and the Seminoles are one of four finalists. They are competing with the Colorado Buffaloes, Stanford Cardinal, and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

While he officially visited all four programs, one expert believes that one school is leading. According to Warchant’s Matt LaSerre, it looks like FSU “has all the momentum” since he officially visited on June 12. Stanford has seemingly emerged as their main competetion, with LaSerre saying they have “worked to make things interesting.”

He is ranked as the No. 1,056 overall player and No. 85 running back in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 122 player from Georgia.
