A back-again, gone-again pizza franchise does not appear on the current back-again list.
The Mr. Gatti’s Pizza in the Walmart on Lawrence Road is permanently closed, according to its website.
In an April 21, 2026, media release, the pizza chain announced it was reopening five closed Walmart locations in Texas and Oklahoma with “revamped dining and entertainment spaces.”
Wichita Falls was not on the list and does not appear on the company’s online store locator.
After an absence from Wichita Falls of several years, Mr. Gatti’s opened in the Walmart on Lawrence Road in late 2024, according to a Dec. 12, 2024, article in the Times Record News.
The Fort Worth-based chain had announced in July 2024, it would open stores in 92 Walmart locations in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Kentucky.
The Wichita Falls location was operated by LPG Retail Management Service out of Weatherford. The company also opened Walmart locations in Graham, Lawton and Duncan.
Websites for those stores indicated they were also permanently closed, and none appear on the store locator list.
Mr. Gatti’s announced in a media release on Jan. 21, 2026, it had been acquired by Dallas-based OneRyan Global.
Mr. Gatti’s opened locations at Sikes Senter and on Enterprise Street near Sheppard Air Force Base in 1978, the TRN article said. A local family acquired the two restaurants in 1993, and they closed in 1998, leaving a 26-year absence before the franchise briefly returned to the city.
