Poole, 51, was shot once in the chest at an apartment on Alan Page Drive SE, police said.

The criminal complaint against Grimes, 45, says he caused Poole’s death by getting into a gunfight with another person. A stray bullet hit Poole during the shootout.

Daquan B.J. Rucker, 30, was the other man in the gunfight, police spokesman Lt. Dennis Garren wrote in an email. Rucker was charged with murder in Canton Municipal Court. His case was bound over to the Stark County grand jury. He is being held in the Stark County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Grimes, a resident of northeast Canton, is scheduled to be arraigned in Canton Municipal Court on June 23. No defense attorney is listed in court records for the case.
