The Ohio High School Athletic Association announced on June 22 changes to its football division alignments, including three local Division I schools moving to a new region for the 2026 season.
Eight programs in Division II opted to move up to Division I. Austintown-Fitch, Cleveland Heights, Elyria, Euclid and Hudson moved up and were put into Region 1. Clayton Northmont, Dublin Scioto and Toledo St. John’s Jesuit moved into Region 2.
Lebanon, Middletown and Springboro competed in Region 2 last season with Middletown winning the region. The changes have moved those three programs into Region 4, joining the other big Cincinnati schools.
All three teams made the postseason and were top eight seeds in Region 2 last year.
In April, the OHSAA previously announced new divisions for 2026, including 16 Greater Cincinnati programs making moves up or down. Those changes remain the same as none of the teams opting up to Division I were local.
