The FIFA 2026 World Cup has arrived in the United States and so have avid soccer fans.
Ahead of the tournament, which kicked off June 11 and ends July 19, fans arrived in host cities early to see what they have to offer, and one German soccer loyalist is sharing his experience in the United States online (and is going viral for it).
The fan’s X account, under the name @FreddyLA7, has gained tens of thousands of followers as he describes his experience in the United States, starting in Georgia and eventually crossing the southeast to Texas.
From trying Taco Bell to Waffle House, the German soccer fan has kept his followers up to date with his latest adventures, and now a Cincinnati favorite is trying to get in on the action.
Graeter’s Ice Cream said in an X post that it was “obsessed” with the fan’s journey and offered to send him six pints of ice cream.
“We’ve been around since 1870 making ice cream in Cincinnati, Ohio. It would be a pleasure to share our family’s ice cream with you!” the June 15 post read.
Sally Boone, an account executive at O’Malley Hansen Communications, which handles public relations for Graeter’s, told The Enquirer, “Unfortunately, Freddy didn’t get back to us but we are still hopeful!”
