University District Kroger closed after shooting

The Kroger on High Street in the University District is closed for at least a portion of June 7 after a shooting there.

According to Columbus police dispatch, police officers responded around 11:30 a.m. to a report of a shooting either inside the Kroger located at 1350 N. High Street or in the parking lot. Nobody was injured in the shooting and police are searching for a suspect, dispatchers said.

A Kroger manager at the location told The Dispatch that the store would be closed at least for the foreseeable future due to the crime scene. The manager said there was a chance it could reopen later in the day, although it was also possible it could remain closed for the day.
