You probably do remember − or have heard tell of − the sniper that wreaked havoc on I-270 in late 2003, and the ensuing manhunt.
The late 2022 disappearance of the Thomas twins, a tragic story that included a joyous discovery before an unfortunate end, likely sticks in the heads of many Columbus residents who remember the Christmastime search for the missing babies.
Those events are among 25 Dispatch journalists have the spent the past few months digging into, preparing our new series that launches June 1: The Columbus Chronicles.
We’ve found major players from some of the most memorable events of the past 25 years, gathering updates on where they are now and the impact of their 15 minutes of Columbus-area fame. Other features in the series will serve as a reminder of a delightful, intriguing or otherwise unusual event that colored the first quarter of the 21st century in Columbus, Ohio.
