The Ranch Recovery Centers marked the opening of its recently completed Medical Services Building with a dedication event on its main campus in Desert Hot Springs. The nonprofit organization has provided comprehensive addiction treatment to men and women for 54 years.
“This building reflects the evolution of treatment at The Ranch,” said Rick Mesa, president and CEO of The Ranch Recovery Centers. “As the needs of those we serve change, we’ve continued to meet them with high-quality, integrated care.”
Over the past eight years, The Ranch has grown from three providers to 13, making the addition of a larger medical space critical. The Medical Services Building supports a full spectrum of care, including routine health evaluations, medication dispensing, medication-assisted treatment and psychiatric services. The expanded space enhances patient privacy while improving coordination between medical and clinical teams.
The dedication and luncheon at The Ranch brought together donors, board members, medical staff and community leaders to celebrate the completion of the project. The many foundations, organizations and individuals whose support made the expansion possible are recognized on an engraved stone at the entrance of the new building. They include the Auen Foundation, Michael and Diane Beemer, the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation, James and Mary Bell, the Beneto Foundation, the Coppock Family Foundation, the Harmon Recovery Foundation, the John P. McGovern Foundation, Sean and Leslie McGrath – Highland Street Foundation, the McMillen Family Foundation, TNT Family Foundation, Ambassador Ronald Weiser, and the Office of Riverside County Supervisor V. Manuel Perez.
“I am thankful for the tremendous support The Ranch received to complete this building, and I am forever grateful for the early support of Mrs. Betty Ford, The Honorable Leonard K. Firestone and Edwin C. Johnsen, who all stepped up during the most challenging times to make it possible for us to become the organization we are today,” Mesa said.
Founded in 1972, The Ranch Recovery Centers typically treats between 450 and 500 men and women each year, regardless of their ability to pay, and extends support to an additional 90 to 100 family members through its family services programs.
Today, The Ranch operates four facilities in Desert Hot Springs, offering residential treatment and transitional living programs for men and women. Its approach combines evidence-based practices with individualized care plans. The dedication of the new Medical Services Building marks a positive step forward in The Ranch’s mission to provide effective care for individuals and families navigating recovery.
