Camp among Giant Sequoias as Balch Park opens for season May 22

Tulare County Parks has announced that Balch Park will reopen for the 2026-2027 Camping Season on Friday, May 22.

Balch Park, which features a grove of Giant Sequoia trees, is located northeast of Springville in the southern Sierra Nevada Mountains. At an elevation of 6,500 feet, its campground includes 71 campsites.

People visit the park to enjoy activities such as fishing, hiking, birdwatching, and rock climbing, and to visit its small museum that honors the area’s original inhabitants.
