Hesperia commuters are being urged to plan ahead as a road rehabilitation project kicks off along Maple Avenue next week.
Crews will begin work along a 3.5-mile stretch of Maple Avenue, between Ranchero Road and Main Street, on Monday, May 18, city officials said.
“Motorists should expect potential lane and road closures, detours, and traffic delays throughout the project area,” officials said in written statement. “Please plan ahead and allow additional travel time for your commute.”
Drivers were reminded to obey all posted traffic signs and construction personnel, as well as slow down in construction areas.
The work was expected to be completed in November.
The roadway, along with many others across the High Desert, sustained significant damage in a massive storm that moved through the region in late December.
