The Los Angeles Rams finished the 2026 NFL Draft with only five selections after trading three picks to the Kansas City Chiefs in March and moving up 10 spots in the sixth round on Saturday. They feel they got five quality players, four of them looking like they could be future starters on offense, with a 327-pound nose tackle being their only pick on defense.
It’ll take a few years to make a definitive decision about the success of this class but the Rams are encouraged by their haul – as is every other team in the league.
From Ty Simpson to Tim Keenan III, here’s one stat to know about each Rams draft pick.
Round 1, No. 13 overall: QB Ty Simpson, Alabama
Between Matthew Stafford and Simpson, the Rams will have the NFL leader and college football leader in big-time throws on their roster. Stafford had by far the most big-time throws last season with 58, 21 more than any other quarterback.
Simpson made 30 such throws, which were tied for the most in college football in 2025. That shows Simpson’s willingness to fit passes into tight windows and take shots downfield.
Round 2, No. 61 overall: TE Max Klare, Ohio State
Klare didn’t test at the combine or his pro day, but on-field athleticism scores from PFF can give us an idea of just how special he is. According to Underdog’s Hayden Winks, Klare tested in the 99.6th percentile for on-field athleticism score.
He’s a big, fast tight end who can make plays in the passing game, similar to the way Terrance Ferguson can.
Round 3, No. 93 overall: OT Keagen Trost, Missouri
NFL Network noted on the broadcast that only two offensive players in the FBS had a higher overall grade than Trost: Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love and Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin. That’s it.
Additionally, Trost allowed just one sack and led all FBS tackles with a 92.0 offensive grade.
Round 6, No. 197 overall: WR CJ Daniels, Miami
Daniels was targeted a total of 123 times at LSU and Miami the last two years. He dropped just two of those passes and caught 92 of them for 1,037 yards. He hardly ever dropped passes in college and was excellent in contested catch situations, battling for the ball against defenders in tight coverage.
Those strong hands will make him a friendly target for Matthew Stafford.
Round 7, No. 232 overall: DT Tim Keenan III, Alabama
At 327 pounds, Keenan is a stout run defender. According to Pro Football Focus, Keenan had a 90.1 run defense grade in 2024, which was the fifth-best of any defensive tackle in the FBS. His play fell off in 2025 but he was outstanding two years ago, making 18 stops and missing just two tackles.
The Rams needed some size on their defensive line behind Poona Ford and Keenan should help against the run.
