My order: Since I was at Tai Pan for lunch, I ordered from the “luncheon special” portion of the menu (available from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday). All of the selections are $9.55 and are served with fried rice, soup and choice of egg roll or crab rangoon. I had the Moo Goo Gai Pan, a stir-fry featuring thinly sliced white-meat chicken, mushrooms, pea pods and other vegetables. I liked the mild flavor and variety of textures in the dish. My friend had the Shrimp with Cashew Nut, a stir-fried blend of shrimp, cashews, scallions, carrots and lots of water chestnuts, which made the dish very crunchy. We both enjoyed the egg rolls.
Likes: Service was fast and prices are reasonable. The full menu has a wide variety of classic Chinese entrees.
Dislikes: None
What would I order next time? The Hawaii Five 0 ($16.95) is a medley of chicken, beef, shrimp, scallops and crab sauteed with mixed veggies in brown sauce.
