Former Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book is fondly remembered by many in South Bend, and this weekend during the Blue & Gold game could be the start of his post-playing career.
On3’s Tyler Horka posted on social media that the Irish record-holder for most starts by a quarterback will be back in South Bend this weekend as the color analyst for the annual spring game. After trying his hand in the NFL for four seasons, and not having been signed with a team since 2024, it looks like Book will be making a transition to the broadcast booth.
It’s a very interesting move for him, one that would certainly keep him around the game for much longer than his playing career did. At 28-years old, Book has a great opportunity to impress as a color analyst, which could lead to another job in the future.
It will be great hearing him break down what he sees on Saturday, as Book knows the game like the back of his hand.
