Santa Paula police nab man allegedly tapping on bedroom window

Santa Paula police officers caught a man early April 5 for alleged prowling at a home in the 100 block of south 12th Street.

Officers with the Santa Paula Police Department were called to the area around 12:15 a.m. when a man was reported tapping on a female’s bedroom window, said Chief Don Aguilar. Police arrived quickly and took the man into custody after a brief foot pursuit, Aguilar said.

The chief credited the quick response of both dispatchers and officers to nabbing the man whose behavior he described as “very alarming.”

The man was arrested on suspicion of prowling, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance, Aguilar said. The man’s city of residence and age were not immediately.

Any residents in the area who may have seen or heard something similar are asked to contact the station’s non-emergency line at 805-525-4474.
