USC’s Lake McRee reflects on Trojan career at NFL combine

On Thursday, the 2026 NFL combine kicked off, with Eric Gentry and Anthony Lucas the first USC participants at the event. Friday’s position groups included defensive backs and tight ends, meaning that we got to see Bishop Fitzgerald, Kamari Ramsey, and Lake McRee in action.

In his interview at the combine, McRee shared what playing at USC meant to him.

“Loyalty is a big thing to me,” McRee said. “I never wanted to leave USC. It was never a thought in my head. That’s why I was there five years ago.”

McRee certainly stuck with the Trojans through the thick and the thin. He arrived at USC in 2021, and this past season was one of the last remaining players to have played for former head coach Clay Helton.

The combine continues on Saturday, with wide receivers among the position groups in action. All eyes will be on USC’s Makai Lemon as he looks to establish himself as the top pass catcher in the draft.
