Former George Jenkins standout Chelsi Williams has been the dominant girls track and field athlete for the past five seasons, including her eighth-grade season at McKeel, and she piled up quite a collection of state medals en route to winning track athlete of the year honors five years in a row. Williams, however, is now at Georgia so for the first time since the COVID-shortened 2020 season, top honors for the girls is up for grabs.
Winter Haven senior Olivia Celiscar, a returning state champion in the shot put, is one of the preseason favorites along with teammate Desirae Murray, the Class 4A state runner-up in the 100-meter dash.
