Prepare to get wild! The 2026 Phoenix Open has entered the weekend, and now we’ll really get to see “The People’s Open” in all its rowdy glory.
Ryo Hisatsune and Hideki Matsuyama shot up the leaderboard with white-hot Round 2 performances in the desert, as did Si Woo Kim with a 9-under Friday. Day 1 leader Chris Gotterup treaded water to remain near the top alongside Matt Fitzpatrick, while Pierceson Coody, Akshay Bhatia, John Parry and Sahith Theegale are among those also within reach of the lead.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler rebounded from a rough Round 1 to make the cut along with Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa. The same could not be said for Brooks Koepka in his second PGA Tour event since his return from LIV Golf. Because Friday’s round was suspended by darkness, the start of play today will start later than expected with threesomes teeing off from the first and 10th tees.
