It’s nearly ever dull for the New York Jets and one recent saga surrounded former NFL head coach turned Barstool Sports analyst Jon Gruden.
The Athletic reported the team reached out to Gruden as New York searches for an offensive coordinator. It was said Gruden declined the offer to even talk.
Then it rolls on as Gruden said on 95.3 WDAE-radio that was incorrect and a “stupid” report.
“There’s a lot of stupid rumors out there,” Gruden said. “Let’s just say there was nothing from the Jets and I wish them well.”
But the debate rolled on.
Both The Athletic and WFAN-radio in New York backed reports of a Jets-Gruden conversation happening.
Regardless of the truth of the matter, Gruden is not coming to the Jets. End of story.
