The Florida Gators are getting set to host the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday inside the O’Connell Center.
The Southeastern Conference matchup is among the top five games this weekend, according to USA TODAY Sports writer Eddie Timanus. The Orange and Blue bring a 10-5 record into play, having fallen out of both the Coaches Poll and AP Poll top 25 this past week; the boys from Rocky Top are 11-4 and ranked 22nd and 21st in those two polls, respectively.
“The defending NCAA champion Gators ran into a few speed bumps in the 2025 portion of this season. But they knocked off a ranked Georgia squad earlier this week and now look to claim another top-25 victory as the Volunteers come to Gainesville,” Timanus begins.
“Tennessee has also battled inconsistency with many new pieces in its lineup, but new arrivals Ja’Kobi Gillespie and Nate Ament have been dominant in stretches. The Gators’ new-look backcourt has struggled, but Thomas Haugh and Alex Condon are hard to keep out of the paint.”
Tipoff for the Gators vs Vols matchup is slated for noon ET on Saturday, with the action broadcast on ESPN.
