We’re into the final weeks of the high school basketball season.
Even if it’s technically past the halfway point, the PNJ is releasing midseason coverage this week. We started with boys and girls basketball power rankings, and released our boys basketball midseason player of the year poll as well.
Today is for the girls basketball midseason player of the year. The PNJ asked readers to vote for their choice for the preseason player of the year and are asked to do so again at midseason.
Navarre sophomore Jaleah Jones was selected as preseason player of the year, and is also a midseason nominee while leading a resurgent Raiders squad.
Below are the rest of the nominees. Please note that voting has no impact on our all-area awards, which will be released following the end of the postseason.
Voting closes at 11 a.m. on Jan. 16. All stats are from publicly available information and as of January 9.
