What will Chargers' offensive line look like in Week 6 vs. Dolphins?

In preparation for their Week 6 matchup against the Dolphins this Sunday, the Chargers’ offensive line faces challenges due to injuries, particularly at the tackle position.

Joe Alt is ruled out due to an ankle injury. Austin Deculus, who filled in for Alt in Week 5, is expected to start again at the left tackle position.

On the opposite side, starting right tackle Trey Pipkins III is ruled out with a knee injury. Jamaree Salyer, another potential option at right tackle, is questionable with a knee injury. If Salyer is unable to play, Bobby Hart is expected to start at right tackle. Los Angeles signed Hart to the practice squad last week.

Hart is a former seventh-round draft pick by the Giants in 2015. He has started 67 of his 98 career regular-season games played with New York, the Bengals, Titans, and Bills. Hart spent the 2024 season on the Commanders’ practice squad before signing a futures contract with the team in February and being released in August. He has not appeared in a regular-season game since 2022.

The projected starting offensive line configuration will be as follows:

LT: Austin Deculus

LG: Zion Johnson

C: Bradley Bozeman

RG: Mekhi Becton

RT: Jamaree Salyer or Bobby Hart

Justin Herbert has been the most pressured quarterback in the NFL through five games and is tied for the third-most sacked. The offensive tackles will be tasked with limiting a good Dolphins edge rusher duo in Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips.
