How is Texas favored in this game? The Longhorns are a point and a half favorite over Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry. After last week’s game in the Swamp, I wouldn’t favor Texas against Westlake High School.
Texas is 1-4 against the spread this season. Texas is 0-2 when betting the Moneyline. Longhorns games have hit the over twice out of five games. And those numbers are when the public thought Texas might be good. Now?
It will be interesting to see how the news of the probability Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer might return from injury early and play in Dallas.
Of course, the Texas team we’ve seen all year wasn’t supposed to be a struggling team. With the talent on the field, on the roster and behind center, the Longhorns should be playing much better. Maybe this is the week they become their “real” selves. Or, what we’re seeing is the real Texas Football team for 2025.

Texas vs. Oklahoma Prediction
I live blogged the Texas-Florida game and suffered through every second. Texas looked lost. It was the worst I’ve seen a Steve Sarkisian team since that fateful trip to Arkansas a few years back.
Arch Manning looked dazed at times with a thousand yard stare, the offensive line was atrocious and even the vaunted defense was shredded regularly. The Gators sure proved you can run up the middle on Texas.
There have been times in the past when the OU game saved the season. But it has also buried it. This is a must win for Texas Football if they want to have any sort of recognizable success this season. I don’t have much faith right now that will happen.
Final score: Oklahoma 35, Texas 16
