Motorcyclist dies in north Indio crash

A 34-year-old motorcyclist died in north Indio Thursday night after colliding with another vehicle, the Indio Police Department has reported.

The collision occurred around 9:43 p.m. at the intersection of Jackson Street and Avenue 41, police said.

The motorcyclist collided with a Honda Civic being driven by a man. Police did not identify either driver, but said the driver of the Honda Civic remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision, police said. They did not estimate how fast either driver was going at the time.

“This is an active investigation, and no further details are available at this time,” the department said.
