Soon after Ohio State named redshirt freshman Julian Sayin the Buckeyes’ starting quarterback against Texas on Aug. 30, UT defensive lineman Colin Simmons sent a message to the new signal-caller on Instagram. His teammates are confident the sophomore can back it up.
Simmons simply posted a picture of Sayin’s Ohio State media photo. But the message was clear – target acquired. As one of the best defensive players in the nation, Simmons can most likely back it up. His teammates believe he can.

“It’s cool. I mean, he’s a guy that’s going to go out there and be ready to play,” Texas linebacker Anthony Hill said after Wednesday’s practice. “So if you feel like that, I know he’s going to back it up and be ready to go.”
The Duncanville High School graduate, who was named to the first-team preseason AP All-American team on Monday, is becoming one of the leaders on the team. Simmons fiery personality combined with a unique work ethic stand out. He’s a player that leads by example.
Texas travels to the Horseshoe in Columbus, Ohio, to face the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. CT.
