Cowboys Cheerleaders return to El Paso with high kicks

High kicks, synchronized routines and crowd cheers filled the stage as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders made their El Paso stop for a second year in a row.

Fans had the opportunity to see the team’s tour buses parked outside the Abraham Chavez Theatre before the show on Wednesday, April 15, as many arrived wearing blue-and-white Cowboys shirts and jerseys and boots of their own.

Faith Hardy surprised her daughter Serenity, 7, with tickets to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders show outside the Abraham Chavez Theatre, asking her to keep her eyes closed while she put on a DCC shirt herself before revealing another for her daughter.

“She’s been a big fan since she was little. She’s been dancing DCC since it was “Making the Team” on TV.
So, like, two and a half, three, I have little videos of her trying to mimic the dances of the DCC girls,” Hardy said.

She had kept the tickets a secret from her daughter since the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders announced they were coming back to El Paso.

The dancers performed in groups across a range of music, trading their signature blue-and-white uniforms and Lucchese boots for different looks, with a few taking the stage for solo routines.

Just like last year, on May 31, director of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Kelli Finglass introduced three dancers, including El Paso native Aleigh Jo, 22, a dance teacher who advanced to the final round on June 6 by public vote.

The show closed with the group’s signature “Thunderstruck” routine, performed in their iconic blue-and-white uniform.
