National Champion wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. from Indiana is on the Indianapolis Colts’ radar.
According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Colts were one of several teams to have met with Cooper. Wilson did not specify whether this was an in-person or virtual meeting.

Let’s take a closer look at what Cooper could bring to the Colts.
Colts 2026 NFL draft prospect to watch: Indiana WR Omar Cooper
Cooper was a regular contributor to the Indiana offense the last three seasons, totaling 171 targets during that span. Last season, his role expanded significantly, with Cooper recording 91 targets. He would catch 69 of those passes for 937 yards with 13 touchdowns. Most of Cooper’s snaps came from the slot in 2025, but most of his snaps in the previous years came from outside.
Cooper is the 22nd-ranked prospect on the NFL consensus big board.

Here is what NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein had to say about Cooper in his pre-draft scouting report:
“Big, strong target whose two-year rise is bolstered by translatable tape. While he was a full-time slot receiver in 2025, Cooper has played outside, as well. He can stem and drive past press with his strength. He has potent early acceleration to climb past nickelbacks into top position to challenge deep. His routes lack polish and he has average in-and-out quickness at break-points, but he’s rugged once the ball is in his hands. His ability to add yards after contact could earn Cooper more carries than we saw from him at Indiana. Fighting for catch space and blocking for the running game are areas where he needs improvement. Cooper is an ascending slot bully with Day 2 value.”
What is the Colts’ need at wide receiver in the NFL draft?
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Ashton Dulin are the likely frontrunners competing for that playing time alongside Alec Pierce and Josh Downs, but another addition at this position to boost competition and hopefully raise the floor of this unit should still be on Chris Ballard’s radar.
