The Wisconsin Badgers 2026-27 women’s hockey roster is already live, and the number that jumps out is simple: 16 players.
The bigger message is more important… After another national title, the Badgers are not startingover. They are reorganizing around a still-formidable core.
The official roster page shows the younger players from the championship group now listed assophomores, including Rhyah Stewart, Mackenzie Jones, Rachel Gorbatenko, Nicole Gorbatenko andCharlotte Pieckenhagen.
Maggie Scannell is a junior, and Ava McNaughton is a senior, which gives the lineup a blend of age and experience that many programs would love to have.
That is the real Wisconsin advantage.
The Badgers beat Ohio State 3-2 in the 2026 national title game and finished 35-4-2, but the roster page suggests the next season will not be a sentimental farewell tour.
This is the type of team and group that just reloads season after season, and the standard is clearly set. The upcoming season will be another chance to apply the same standard, with enough continuity to expect similar results.
