Police said the incident took place July 21 about 10:20 p.m. at the home of state Rep. Priscilla Prado. The man was captured on doorbell surveillance camera attempting to open the door before walking around the property for a while.

Prado, a Democrat who represents Assembly District 9 and who was sworn in earlier this year, released a statement on the incident.

“Late last night, a disturbance occurred at my residence,” Prado said. “Authorities have been notified and are actively investigating this situation. I am grateful that no one was injured.

“This has been a deeply unsettling experience, and I appreciate the influx of concern. I respectfully ask for privacy and patience as law enforcement continues its work.”

Police describe the man as white, in his late 40s to early 50s, about 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has shoulder length blond hair. Police ask anyone with information to call officer Bryce Ripp at 608-266-8797 or email him at bryce.ripp1@wisconsin.gov.

Last month, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos signaled his intent to provide increased security measures for Wisconsin lawmakers at the State Capitol after two Minnesota lawmakers were gunned down at their homes by a man who also targeted Wisconsin officials.
