Three must-watch Wisconsin volleyball matches in 2026

When it comes to the Wisconsin Badgers 2026 volleyball season, there are a ton of matches to look forward to.

Wisconsin’s season kicks off with a bang as part of a three-game neutral slate that will set the tone for what 2026 has to offer.

Not only that, but the Badgers have a few crucial road matchups that include them heading to the house of the defending National Champions.

This year’s conference slate is more important than ever as it marks the first year the Big Ten will be hosting a conference tournament. Women’s sports, volleyball specifically, continue to grow at a rapid rate, and this is yet another example highlighting that.

1. August 21 vs. Kentucky

Wisconsin is set to open its 2026 season with a crucial final four rematch. There’s no time to waste as the Badgers’ first opponent is the team that sent them packing in the 2025 Final Four, Kentucky.

The Wildcats and Badgers will do battle at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, WI. It’s not a true road game, nor a traditional neutral site game, but this should be an outer-worldly environment, one that looks to get Wisconsin off to a hot start in 2026.

2. September 11 at Texas A&M

Texas A&M didn’t drop a set against No. 1 Pittsburgh or No. 1 Kentucky in the Final Four and National Championship game. The Aggies sent home No. 1 Nebraska, 3-2, which helped set the tone before dominating a pair of No. 1 seeds with ease.

Now, Wisconsin knows that’s a team standing in its way during the regular season. The Badgers head to College Station, TX, for their seventh match of the year, one that will have fans around the world tuning in to see just how legit Wisconsin is.

3. TBD at Nebraska

The Badgers’ 17-game conference slate sees them play at Nebraska this season, a team that has set the standard for Big Ten play. The Cornhuskers are no joke, and their going five sets with Texas A&M in the tournament proves that. The date of this game doesn’t matter in the long run, but knowing it’s on the road makes it that much more difficult.
