NEKOOSA – A Wisconsin Rapids resident won millions after buying a scratch ticket in Nekoosa.
According to a news release from Wisconsin Lottery, Kelly Reitz from Wisconsin Rapids won a $2 million top prize from a $2 Million Royale scratch ticket.
Reitz bought the ticket from the Nekoosa Mart, 106 First St. in Nekoosa, and claimed the winnings at the Wisconsin Lottery office in Madison last week, according to the June 8 news release.
The $2 Million Royale game is a $50 scratch ticket that premiered Jan. 30 and offers 10 different prize amounts, ranging from $75 to $2 million. According to Wisconsin Lottery, the odds of winning the $2 million prize are 1 in 280,000.
Wisconsin retailers who sell tickets winning more than $599 receive a 2% Retailer Performance Program Winning Incentive, up to $100,000, according to Wisconsin Lottery.
Reitz’s $2 million prize is the largest lottery ticket ever sold by Nekoosa Mart, and the store will receive $40,000.
