Wisconsin football offers 2027 wide receiver with significant SEC interest

Wisconsin football extended an offer to class of 2027 wide receiver Jeremiah Douglas on Monday.

The Badgers join Douglas’ strong offer sheet, which also includes Arizona State, Arkansas, BYU, Houston, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, SMU, Syracuse, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, USC and Vanderbilt.

247Sports currently lists the Crandall, Texas, native as a three-star recruit. He’s also ranked as the No. 366 overall player in the class of 2027, the No. 50 wide receiver and the No. 48 recruit from his home state. While it’s still too early for a 247Sports crystal ball forecast, On3/Rivals lists SEC powers Texas and Oklahoma as the two early favorites for the wide receiver’s commitment.

Wisconsin is ramping up its efforts in the 2027 cycle, with its class of 2026 nearing finalization. The program’s class of 2026 has just 14 commitments entering August. That group sits at No. 60 in the national rankings and No. 16 in the Big Ten. While months remain until the early signing period in December, that 2026 cycle will soon take a back seat when the 2025 football season kicks off.

Wisconsin will look for better results in the 2027 class after what has become a disappointing 2026 cycle. Luke Fickell delivered consecutive top-25 finishes in 2024 and 2025, respectively, after taking over the program near the end of the 2023 cycle. Those outputs appear far in the rearview, as the program’s recruiting has taken a considerable hit after its on-field struggles in 2023 and 2024.
