Former Wisconsin basketball guard Daniel Freitag committed to Oregon State on Saturday.
Freitag reentered the transfer portal earlier this month after one season at Buffalo. The former top high school recruit excelled with the Bulls, averaging 33.2 minutes, 19.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. That season followed one year at Wisconsin, during which Freitag appeared in 14 games and tallied two points, four rebounds and three assists.

247Sports’ transfer rankings reflect the former Badger’s resurgent sophomore season. The service lists him as a four-star recruit and ranks him as the No. 141 overall transfer and No. 28 point guard.
Freitag is set to join an Oregon State program that went 17-16 in 2025-26. The Beavers, who recently joined the West Coast Conference after the Pac-12 broke up, are looking for their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2021.
