The 2026 NBA Draft is hours away, and the question on everyone’s mind is what’s going to happen after the blockbuster Giannis Antetokounmpo trade?
Around midnight, the Milwaukee Bucks officially traded The Greek Freak in a massive package to the Miami Heat. Knowing Milwaukee only had the No. 10 overall pick in the 2026 draft, they certainly made a massive move to improve on that.
As part of the 60-pick draft, Wisconsin Badgers fans know Nick Boyd’s name is on the chopping block. It’s not like anyone expects him to wind up in Milwaukee, far from it, but consistently, he’s been on the cusp, or completely eliminated from being selected entirely.
Despite a stellar performance in the combine, Boyd’s age stands out like a sore thumb. At 25-years-old, it’s hard for these NBA teams to justify drafting him late over someone who is much, much younger.
Boyd doesn’t believe he’s reached his ceiling, and Badgers fans would say the same. At the end of the day, only time will tell, but absolutely no one expects the Wisconsin guard to be selected in tonight’s first round, one that now includes two first round picks for the Bucks.
