OSHKOSH – An Oshkosh man has been arrested on suspicion of a midnight armed robbery of a Kwik Trip.
A 58-year-old man is in custody on suspicion of robbing the gas station in the town of Vinland with a handgun Oct. 13, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

According to the release, deputies responded to the armed robbery at the Kwik Trip at 12:30 a.m. Oct. 13 after a male suspect “presented a handgun and demanded money out of the cash register.”
Authorities said the man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money before getting in his car parked across the street.
The sheriff’s office couldn’t immediately apprehend the suspect in the area with the assistance of the Oshkosh Police Department and the Neenah Police Department.
The sheriff’s office then, in conjunction with Oshkosh Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol, arrested the man during a traffic stop Oct. 15 after a subsequent investigation revealed he was living in Oshkosh.
The release said the case is being reviewed for federal prosecution.
The Northwestern does not name suspects until they have been charged with a crime in court.
