A windy mid-week marker in Milwaukee sets up a stormy weekend on the way.
April 8 is forecast for powerful winds most of the day, with maximum gusts reaching up to 35 mph. National Weather Service station officials at the Milwaukee/Sullivan station recommend securing loose outdoor objects and using caution in tall-body vehicles.

In exchange for the wind, Milwaukee is forecast for a much warmer day with its first 60-plus degree day in over a week. Meteorologist Denny VanCleve said high pressure from the east and low pressure from the west cause the strong southerly winds but also open the door for the warm conditions.
A quarter inch of rainfall is still expected Wednesday evening, but the daytime should stay dry for most of the week.
Thursday, April 9 is expected to have a sunny morning with a high of 58 degrees for a glimpse at better weather the next day. Thunderstorms return in the evening with another quarter inch of rainfall anticipated.
Friday, April 10 is the best shot for clear weather. Winds calm down below 5 mph, clouds break in the morning through the evening and temperatures hold between a high of 51 and a low of 34 degrees.
Early forecasts for April 11-13 call for more of the same pressure pattern that created high winds April 8 with a rise in humidity, according to VanCleve. More humidity will bring more storms to start the week.
