Looking for fireworks shows, parades and other celebrations in the area to celebrate Independence Day?
A variety of municipalities and organizations will be hosting fireworks shows throughout the weekend to celebrate the Fourth of July with many also offering live music, parades and other activities.
Check out these options in the Wisconsin Rapids area.
Adams
The Adams-Friendship VFW Post 6279 & Auxiliary will host the group’s Fourth of July VFW Picnic & Parade starting at 10 a.m. July 4. The parade will line up starting at 8 a.m. at the Adams County Fairgrounds on Adams County J. The picnic will follow from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. July 4 at the VFW at 172 N. Linden Street.
Friendship
The Friendship Lake annual boat parade will start at 7:30 p.m. July 4 on Friendship Lake. The annual fireworks show provided by the Nadine Ashworth family will start at dusk, or about 9:30 p.m. July 4.
Pittsville
Between the Heart and Sole Race and the 63rd annual Legion-Lions Fourth of July Celebration, festivities including a carnival, live music, a parade and fireworks will run July 3 and 4, at Riverside Park. The Pittsville Heart and Sole Run/Walk will start at 7 p.m. July 3, with the children’s race starting at 6:15 p.m. at Riverside Park. The Fourth of July Celebration will also kick off July 3 with a carnival, and Rising Phoenix will perform from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Riverside Park. Celebrations will continue with a parade beginning at noon July 4, with a Fifth Quarter performance after the parade at Riverside Park. Tuck Pence will perform from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Mike Nanstad will perform from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 4. Fireworks will start at dusk July 4 at Riverside Park.
Rome
The Lake Sherwood Independence Day Festivities will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 5 at 1146 W. Queens Way in Rome. Activities include children’s games, a cornhole tournament, live music by Southbound, food trucks, a ski show and more. Fireworks will start at dusk July 5.
Stevens Point
Riverfront Rendezvous will run July 3-5 at Pfiffner Pioneer Park, including three days of live music, a market, a children’s play area, a family zone, food trucks, food tents, a picnic table tent, a beer tent and more. Fireworks will launch from the Wisconsin River starting at dusk July 5.
Wisconsin Rapids
Festivities at the Wisconsin Rapids Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Show will start at 6 p.m. July 4 along both sides of the Wisconsin River. Mill Creek Cowtippers will perform from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 4 on Second Street between Grand Avenue and Jackson Street bridges. The Wisconsin Rapids City Band will also perform starting at 7:30 p.m. outside of Centralia Center, 220 Third Ave. S. Fireworks will start at dusk, or about 9:30 p.m. July 4, launching from the Wisconsin River.
