The Milwaukee Brewers have found their offensive groove again. And just in time to be in sync for a payback series.
After scoring 13 runs twice against the Arizona Diamondbacks this week, the Brewers travel to Washington to face the Nationals, the only team to sweep them this season, in a three-game April series.
Though the Brewers have gone 8-7 since those losses, after scoring 28 runs in their last 25 innings, they own a plus-38 run differential without injured Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich and Andrew Vaughn. The three teams ahead of them in run differential – the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves and New York Yankees – are in first place in their divisions while the 16-14 Brewers are fourth in the NL Central.
Two of the three Nationals starting pitchers this weekend have at least a 4.85 ERA, so the Brewers’ scoring trend could continue. But despite a minus-10 run differential, the young Nationals are a surprising second in the league in runs and averaged six runs a game in their sweep at American Family Field last month.

The middle game of the series features a sneaky-good pitching matchup between Kyle Harrison and Foster Griffin. Harrison is coming off a 12-strikeout game and Griffin has allowed only eight earned runs in his five starts.
