The Duke men’s basketball team is getting another Knueppel.
Kager Knueppel, a 6-foot-10 class of 2027 recruit from Wisconsin Luthern High School, announced his commitment to the Blue Devils on social media June 29. He’ll follow in the footsteps of his older brother Kon II.
Kager Knueppel is the No. 52 prospect in the 2027 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He has won two straight WIAA state titles with Wisconsin Lutheran and has seen his profile rise in the last few months while playing for the Team Herro AAU program. He is averaging 16.5 points and shooting 50.7% on 3-pointers on Nike’s EYBL circuit.
Duke offered Knueppel a scholarship this spring, and he also took an official visit to Purdue.
The Blue Devils were already familiar with the Knueppel family, which is well-known in local basketball circles. Kon II played the 2024-25 season with the blue blood program and was the No. 4 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. He had a standout first season in the NBA, finishing behind former Duke teammate Cooper Flagg in rookie-of-the-year voting.
“I liked his priorities,” Kager Knueppel told the Journal Sentinel in May about learning from his brother’s recruitment. “Go to a place that has the best player he could compete with daily, have the chance to win a national championship, and have fun doing it. Those are some of my goals in picking a school, too.”
