The Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins have taken similar paths early this season, experiencing immediate highs and lows.
The Brewers (10-8) won eight of their first 10 games before dropping six in a row, then winning their last two. The Marlins (9-10) started 8-5 and won five of their first six games, but are 1-6 in their last seven and have fallen below .500. The teams meet this weekend in a three-game series at loanDepot Park in Miami.

The Brewers continue to struggle to score runs. During a 2-4 homestand against the Washington Nationals and Toronto Blue Jays, they averaged just 3.5 runs a game. But their bullpen rebounded the last two games as they won a pair of 2-1 matchups against Toronto.
Kyle Harrison’s start has been pushed back due to some lingering wrist soreness so Milwaukee has called up Coleman Crow to make his major-league debut. Eight pitchers have already started games for the Brewers this season.

The middle game of the series features a matchup between Brandon Woodruff and 2022 Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara. After struggling last season coming off of surgery, Alcantara pitched well in his first two starts this season before getting roughed up by Minnesota in his last outing. Woodruff allowed only one run in his last start, against the Nationals.
