The Denmark boys wrestling team was the winner for February, receiving 2,451 votes. The Bay Port boys wrestling team was runner-up with 1,337 votes.
Here are this month’s nominees. Be sure to vote in the poll below.
Bay Area Ice Bears girls hockey
The Ice Bears capped another dominant season with a 5-4 win over St. Croix in the WIAA state championship game, capturing their second straight title and the third in the past four seasons.
Bay Area finished 26-2.
Bay Port boys wrestling
The Pirates (19-6) qualified for D1 state for the third time in four years and the fifth time overall. They reached a state semifinal for the second straight season.
Coleman boys wrestling
Went 21-1 this season and made the D2 team state tournament for the second straight year after being elevated from D3 after 2023-24.
It lost in the championship match to Evansville, but all the success will elevate the team to D1 next season.
De Pere boys basketball
The Redbirds had a dominant run through the D1 bracket to reach the state tournament for the first time since winning a title in 2023.
De Pere beat its four regional and sectional opponents by at least 15 points each, including a 97-74 win over Brookfield East in a sectional championship.
It finished 25-4, winning 25 or more games for the fifth straight season.
De Pere boys hockey
The Voyageurs made program history by reaching state for the first time, upsetting No. 1 seed Neenah 4-2 in a sectional championship.
They went 21-5-1.
Green Bay Notre Dame girls basketball
The Tritons (24-5) reached the D1 state tournament for the first time in program history after qualifying 11 times in D2.
Notre Dame beat Kimberly 54-48 in a sectional semifinal and No. 1 seed Stevens Point 69-54 in a sectional championship to reach the big stage.
Seymour boys basketball
The Thunder qualified for state for the first time since 2011 and reached a title game for the first time since 2006 after an impressive run through the D3 field.
It included a 56-49 win over No. 1 seed Freedom in a sectional semifinal.
Seymour won 28 games this season, setting a program record and surpassing the 27 victories by the 1996-97 team.
