A popular dinner series celebrating global culture, cuisine and storytelling is returning to Milwaukee.
The Tables Across Borders series invites refugees and immigrant chefs to cook for the public, sharing dishes, stories and traditions that reflect their heritage, and creating a connection with strangers through the global conversation of food.

The year’s series has four dinners: two held at Amilinda, 315 E. Wisconsin Ave., and two at Tricklebee Cafe, 4424 W. North Ave. It kicks off April 28 at Amilinda.
At each dinner, the chef prepares a multi-course meal and shares their story and a little about the food they’re serving. Proceeds go directly to the chefs and their families.
The series began in 2019. Since then, it’s highlighted the cuisines of the Rohingya, Karen, Serbian, Afghani, Ethiopian, Eritrean, Congolese, Syrian, Somali, Burmese and Ukrainian cultures at events in both Milwaukee and Madison.
How to dine at the Tables Across Borders dinner series
The series’ first dinner takes place April 28 at Amilinda, featuring an evening of Burmese cuisine with chef Point.

Tickets for each event are $85 per person, with proceeds directly supporting the refugee families and the mission of Tables Across Borders. Gratuity and alcohol sales are not included.
Each event begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are available now on Amilinda’s OpenTable page under the “experiences” tab.
