Bay Area Ice Bears

Another year, another state title.

The Ice Bears went 26-2 and beat St. Croix 5-4 in the WIAA state title game to win their second straight championship and the third in the last four years.

Senior forward Faye Brunke had three goals and one assist in the win, sophomore forward Aisling Buchan scored one goal and had three assists, senior defender Addison Dahl had one goal and one assist, junior forward Lilly Lyons had two assists and junior goaltender Reese Spiering made 17 saves.

Green Bay Notre Dame basketball

Entering the season, the Tritons had been to the state tournament 11 times since joining the WIAA in 2000.

Their 12th trip made program history, qualifying in D1 for the first time after every previous appearance was D2.

Notre Dame finished 24-5 and won the Fox River Classic Conference title for the fourth time in the last five seasons.

Green Bay Preble softball

The Hornets’ season ended one win short of making their first state tournament, but they still had an impressive 2026.

Preble won the FRCC title for the second straight season and the fifth time since 2021.

It had the FRCC co-coach of the year in Caitlin Krueger and eight players who made the all-conference team.

Luxemburg-Casco volleyball

The Spartans were the only local team to qualify for the state tournament, making the big stage for the sixth time since their first trip in 2017.

L-C went 34-13 and lost to eventual D2 state champion Sauk Prairie in a state semifinal.
